Getting around · Airport transfers
From arrivals to your first night.
Seven airports, seven different arrival decisions. Match the transfer to your address, luggage and next commitment before choosing the cheapest-looking ride.
An airport arrival is easier when the destination is precise. A hotel in central Bariloche and a lodge along the western lake shore need different journeys. A room in Mendoza and a winery stay in the Uco Valley are different drop-offs. Work from the accommodation address, then compare the complete route: a public bus may suit a central stay, while several people with bulky luggage may prefer a car. Shared services can involve waiting or multiple stops. Confirm the service, destination and meeting point for your flight before booking a transfer. No advertised road journey can guarantee a connection after a delayed landing.
01
Use the airport code
EZE and AEP both serve Buenos Aires but are separate airports. IGR is on the Argentine side of Iguazú. Put the code, flight number and full destination address into any transfer enquiry; a city name alone can conceal a very different journey.
02
Compare the total journey
Add waiting, the final walk or taxi and the luggage you will carry to the comparison. A public bus is useful only when you can reach the right stop and complete the journey comfortably. Ask a shared service whether it reaches your property or a central terminal.
03
Explain special requirements early
Tell the provider about wheelchairs, large bags, sports equipment and any child-seat requirement before paying. Confirm the actual vehicle and loading arrangements. An airline's assistance booking does not automatically provide assistance from the terminal to your accommodation.

Buenos Aires arrivals
Two codes. A road journey between them.
Buenos Aires Tourism lists taxis, remises, private transfers, shuttle services and public buses for both airports. Those are categories to compare, not a guarantee that every service runs when your flight arrives. Check the current operator information and destination served. For an EZE–AEP connection, build a separate road-transfer plan between flights: landing, entry formalities where applicable, baggage collection, meeting the driver, traffic and the next airline's deadline all matter. Ask the airline whether your ticket protects the connection and what happens if the inbound flight changes. A single city name on a booking summary does not establish that both flights use the same terminal.
01
EZE · Ministro Pistarini, Ezeiza
EZE is outside Buenos Aires. Compare an airport taxi or remis, a prebooked private transfer, a shuttle with a defined city stop and the public-bus route that serves your destination. The tourism office identifies Tienda León as a shuttle provider. Confirm its current terminal and whether any onward hotel transfer is included; a ticket into the city is not automatically a door-to-door journey.
02
AEP · Aeroparque Jorge Newbery
AEP is within the city, but the transfer still depends on traffic and your neighbourhood. A taxi or remis can suit luggage and a direct address; a public bus can suit a route you have checked in advance. Compare the current stop and payment arrangements. If the next flight leaves EZE, reserve time for that airport change rather than planning a city outing in the apparent gap.

The hotel address changes the best option.
These airports serve regions whose accommodation spreads well beyond the centre of the named city. Ask whether a quoted transfer ends at the bus terminal, your hotel or a wider resort area. Where a public route is useful, check the current timetable and payment method through the official source below. A route number is a planning lead, not a promise of a departure after every flight. For a rural stay, agree how the property handles a delayed arrival before choosing a flight that lands late.
03
BRC · Bariloche
Bariloche Tourism identifies bus line 72 between the airport and the city, alongside taxi/remis, rental-car and arranged-driver options. Use its current transport page for stops, times and payment methods. A bus into the centre may leave another leg to accommodation along Avenida Bustillo or near Cerro Catedral. Compare that whole journey with a direct transfer, especially when carrying ski or walking equipment.
04
IGR · Cataratas del Iguazú
Misiones Tourism lists an airport-to-hotel service, the Río Uruguay bus connection, taxis and remises. Confirm whether a shared service reaches your exact property and whether your bus is going to town or the park. IGR is in Argentina; a booking for the Brazilian airport involves a different country and transfer. Keep an arrival afternoon flexible rather than making a full falls visit depend on clearing the airport immediately.
05
MDZ · Mendoza
MendoTran lists line 680 as an airport–centre–terminal route, with other airport services serving different areas. Check the current route and stop before relying on it. For a stay in Luján de Cuyo, Maipú or the Uco Valley, ask the accommodation for a confirmed transfer to that address and compare the full price with an airport-to-city journey plus a second ride. A winery appointment should begin after you have reached your base, rather than serving as an arrival deadline.

Southern Patagonia and the far south
Separate the airport from the excursion.
A glacier day, an Antarctic embarkation and a flight arrival each have their own meeting points. Keep their confirmations separate and check whether the larger booking already includes ground transport. If you intend to continue beyond the airport's nearest town, obtain a booking that covers the actual onward leg. A service advertised at an arrivals desk may sell tickets to another destination without providing an immediate through connection from your flight.
06
FTE · El Calafate
The airport lists a shuttle bus to El Calafate, taxis/remises and rental desks. Ask the shuttle where it drops passengers and compare a direct car to your property when travelling together. An onward service to El Chaltén is a different booking: check the pickup point, operating date and what happens after a flight delay. Do not assume that a town transfer includes either the national park or the glacier excursion.
07
USH · Ushuaia
Ushuaia Airport identifies taxi and remis stands. For a town stay, agree the hotel address and luggage needs. For an expedition, ask the operator whether airport pickup, a hotel night and transport to embarkation are included, then follow its actual meeting instructions. The commercial port, an office and a hotel reception are different destinations. A direct airport-to-ship ride does not replace the arrival buffer or check-in arrangements required by the expedition.
Before you arrive
Make the handoff straightforward.
Save the few details that matter while you still have a reliable connection.
01
Meeting point
Know where the driver waits.
Ask whether the meeting point is inside arrivals, at a named desk or outside the terminal. Keep the provider's contact and the booking confirmation offline. Tell them the flight number so the arrangement is linked to the right arrival, and establish how you should report a delay.
Distinguish the pickup time from the scheduled landing.
Confirm any included waiting time.
02
Payment
Confirm the total and the currency.
Ask whether the quote is per vehicle or per person, what luggage is included and whether tolls or an extra stop alter the amount. Confirm payment methods with that provider rather than borrowing advice from another airport. Keep a practical backup for a payment terminal that does not work.
Check shared-service and private-car prices on the same basis.
Retain the booking and payment receipt.
03
Public transport
Check the final leg.
Use the current route map to identify where you leave the bus and how you reach the accommodation. Check luggage practicality and payment requirements before boarding. A service that suits a light bag and a central hotel may be awkward with several cases or a distant lakeside property.
Do not assume a bus waits for delayed flights.
Have an alternative if the last suitable departure has gone.
04
Connections
Let the next deadline set the margin.
Work backwards from the next airline's check-in or bag-drop deadline, or the expedition's required meeting time. Add the arrival process and road journey before deciding whether a connection works. Separate tickets can leave you responsible for rearranging the later booking if the first flight changes.
Ask what protection your actual ticket includes.
Keep sightseeing optional on an airport-change day.
05
Accommodation
Agree the arrival with the property.
Confirm late check-in, the exact entrance and a contact who can receive you. Rural accommodation may be reached through a gate or along an approach the driver needs to know. Share useful directions from the property instead of relying on a pin that only identifies the wider estate.
Keep the address in Spanish available.
Check whether a hotel shuttle needs an advance reservation.
06
The return
Plan departure from your base.
Arrange the pickup from the place where you will actually sleep the final night. Include luggage collection, rental return where relevant and the airport process. A winery stay, an outlying Bariloche hotel or a journey from El Chaltén needs its own departure plan.
Reconfirm the pickup and contact.
Keep the last morning free of an excursion that could run late.
